Profit and payback are estimates from today's coin prices and network difficulty, before pool fees, hosting and taxes. They change every day. Not financial advice.
Rankings use the algorithm's main coin (BTC for SHA-256, LTC + DOGE for Scrypt): small side chains may pay more per hash today but can't absorb much hashrate.
The Bitmain Antminer S21e Hyd (338Th) is an ASIC miner by Bitmain for the SHA-256 algorithm, rated at 338 TH/s on 5,746 W. It came out in April 2025. At 17.0 J/TH it is 16% more efficient than the median SHA-256 miner we track (20.4 J/TH). At $0.036/kWh it ranks #62 of 299 SHA-256 miners by daily profit, earning about $7.34 a day mining BTC. The best price on AsicProfit is $1,899. At today's rates it would pay for itself in about 259 days. It is water-cooled (hydro), so it needs a cooling loop and a dry cooler instead of fans.

Which coolant and pH should I use for the S21e Hyd?
AsicProfit SupportAsicProfit · Oct 27, 2026
Bitmain allows antifreeze, pure water or deionized water. Keep the pH in range for the coolant you use: antifreeze 7.0 to 9.0, pure water 6.5 to 7.5, deionized water 8.5 to 9.5. Never use tap water. If the pipes turn yellow or the water quality drops, Bitmain says to shut the miner down and change the coolant. Flow should stay at 8 to 10 L/min, under 3.5 bar.

What's the difference between the 288T, 310T and 332T S21e Hyd?
AsicProfit SupportAsicProfit · Oct 25, 2026
They are hashrate bins of the same water-cooled S21e Hyd at about 17 J/TH. Bitmain lists 288 TH/s at 4896 W and 310 TH/s at 5270 W, measured at a 35 C coolant inlet. Higher bins earn more per unit but draw proportionally more power. All versions need the same three-phase supply and water loop, so the choice comes down to price per TH. The calculator above helps compare them.

Does the S21e Hyd come with a power cable and PSU?
AsicProfit SupportAsicProfit · Oct 22, 2026
The power supply is built in, but Bitmain lists the S21e Hyd cord as not included. You need a three-phase 380 to 415 V connection, 50 to 60 Hz, with a maximum of 12 A per phase. Get it wired by an electrician who knows three-phase work. Wrong wiring can stop the boards from starting or damage the power supply, as one hydro owner found.

What should I do with the S21e Hyd before shipping it for repair or storing it?
AsicProfit SupportAsicProfit · Oct 2, 2026
Drain it completely. Bitmain says to blow the remaining liquid out of the cold plates with an air pump, then cap the inlet and outlet. Water left inside can freeze and crack the plates or connectors, or leak onto the hashboards. Bitmain warns that both can void the warranty. Warranty is 365 days from shipping for the original buyer from Bitmain.

my hydro miner shows red fault light and no hashrate, what to check first
AsicProfit SupportAsicProfit · Sep 17, 2026
Bitmain's hydro troubleshooting guide groups faults by the indicator lights. A red light with high temperature usually means the coolant valves are closed or the water temperature is out of range, so check that the inlet and outlet valves are open and the inlet is between 20 and 50 C. If the miner has no IP address, check the cable and switch, then reset it. The kernel log shows which board or sensor failed.

Could I heat my house or a pool with an S21e Hyd?
AsicProfit SupportAsicProfit · Sep 14, 2026
People do use hydro miners for heat. Do not pump pool or heating-system water straight through the miner, because the chemicals can corrode its aluminium cold plates. Owners on Bitcointalk use a stainless-steel plate heat exchanger, with clean coolant on the miner side. Keep the miner's inlet between 20 and 50 C and control the temperature so it does not swing widely. Check local rules for electrical and plumbing work.
