Can two S23 Hyd units share one water cooler?

Maybe, if the cooler and pump are sized for the combined heat and flow. Each S23 Hyd is rated around 5.5 kW and needs 8 to 10 L/min at its inlet, so two units need double the flow plus pipe losses. Bitmain keeps inlet temperature between 20 and 50 C. Forum owners warn that a cooler rated right at the combined load leaves no margin on hot days. Check the pump curve before you buy.

What's the real difference between the S23 air, Hyd and immersion versions?

They share the S23 chip generation but differ in cooling, power and hashrate. The air version runs on single-phase power with fans and is the easiest to install. The Hyd version uses a closed water loop and three-phase power, and gives the most hashrate per unit. The immersion version runs fanless in dielectric fluid inside a tank. Pick the cooling you can actually provide first, then compare versions in the calculator above.

my hydro miner won't start in winter even though the water is flowing, why?

Bitmain hydro miners have low-temperature protection and will not start if the inlet coolant is below about 20 C. The S23 Hyd specifies an inlet range of 20 to 50 C. Bitmain suggests warming the loop first, either by recirculating internally until the water heats up or with an inline heater. In freezing climates, use antifreeze coolant rather than pure water so the cold plates are not damaged.

Which plug and power does the air-cooled S23 need?

The air-cooled S23 is single-phase: 220 to 277 V, 50 to 60 Hz, up to 20 A. That makes it much easier to install than the Hyd version, which needs three-phase 380 to 415 V. Bitmain rates the air unit at 76 dBA with fans at full speed. It moves a lot of air, so leave at least 10 percent airflow margin in any enclosure or ducting.

What warranty does Bitmain give on the S23 series?

Bitmain's shop lists 365 days from the shipping date for the S23 and S23 Hyd. Cover applies only to the original purchaser who bought directly from Bitmain, so resold units are covered by the reseller under its own terms. Bitmain can refuse cover if the unit was run outside its specified conditions. For hydro units, poor coolant or freeze damage are common causes of refused claims.

It is built for commercial setups. The S23 Hyd needs a three-phase 380 to 415 V supply, up to 12 A, and an external water loop with a pump and dry cooler. Coolant must enter between 20 and 50 C at 8 to 10 L/min, under 3.5 bar. Forum owners point out that the cooling gear adds its own power draw. A home install is possible only with three-phase power and a properly sized loop.
