Air, Hyd or Immersion: which S21 XP version should I pick?

Pick the version your site can support. The air version, at 270 TH/s and 3645 W, needs only single-phase power and airflow, but it is loud. The Hyd version, at 473 TH/s and 5676 W, gives the most hashrate per unit but needs three-phase power and a water loop. The Immersion version needs three-phase power, a tank and dielectric oil. How hot can it be outside if I use a dry cooler with the Hyd version?

Bitmain links the dry cooler's outlet water temperature to the highest ambient air it can handle: about 30 C ambient for 35 C water, 40 C ambient for 45 C water, and 45 C ambient for 50 C water. Since the miner accepts inlet water up to 50 C, a properly sized dry cooler works in most climates. Hashrate and efficiency vary slightly with inlet temperature.

Bitmain specifies three-phase 380 to 415 V at up to 12 A, and the power cord is not included. On the water side: inlet 20 to 50 C, 8 to 10 L/min, no more than 3.5 bar, 10 mm pipe connectors. Use antifreeze, pure or deionized water, never tap water. Rated draw is 5676 W at 35 C inlet. The miner will not start if the inlet is below 20 C.

Can I run the air S21 XP at home on 240V?

The air-cooled S21 XP takes single-phase 220 to 277 V at up to 20 A, so a dedicated 240 V circuit works. Rated draw is 3645 W, and it ships with a C20 power cord. The catch is noise: Bitmain rates it at 76 dBA at full fan speed, so most owners keep it in a garage, shed or ducted room rather than living space.

They are the two working modes. In Normal Energy Mode, Bitmain rates the S21 XP Imm. at 300 TH/s and 4050 W, or 13.5 J/TH. In High Energy Mode it reaches 380 TH/s at 5700 W, or 15 J/TH. HEM earns more per machine but is less efficient, so it only pays where power is cheap. Oil inlet should be 20 to 50 C at about 1 m3/h, on three-phase 380 to 415 V.

New S21 XP shows network abnormal and won't connect to the pool, any ideas?

Start with the network, not the miner. Confirm the miner gets an IP address and can reach the internet, try a second pool address, and set static DNS servers if DHCP DNS is unreliable. Office or company networks often block mining ports. If that does not help, reset to factory settings and reflash the official firmware. Check the kernel log for stratum errors before sending it for repair.
